Grace Moulder scoops the NDA National Design Award 2011

A huge congratulations to Grace Moulder from Darlington, who studied at Teesside University and impressed the judges with her design scheme. Check it out!

Only three days left!

The weeks have flown by since the opening of the NDA National Design Award competition and now the closing date is setting in.


There's only three days left to submit your entry and be in with a chance of scooping that  huge money prize and seeing your design come true!

Please to include a copy of your application with your entry and allow enough time for the post man to whizz it up to us.

We've already started receiving some exciting submissions and are looking forward to the judging process.

Remember, you have until midnight on 7th July 2011 to submit and the winner will be announced on 28th July 2011. We can't wait to see your designs so good luck!

Good morning folks! If you're worried that its too late to enter the NDA National Design Awards, don't! You still have time to get your entry form in and receive regular e-mail updates about the competition.

Remember, as long you've got less than one years industry experience, are currently studying a design related subject or recently graduated in the last 12 months. There's no age limit so it doesn't matter if you're 16 or 60, you can have a go!

We even have a dedicated competition co-ordinator who is ready and waiting with any questions or quires you may have about the competition, just send them to designaward@nda.ac.uk

We're officially launched!

Hello everyone and welcome to the NDA National Design Award 2011 blog. Here you'll find all the information you need about this exciting competition!

If you think you have what it takes to be crowned NDA National Designer of 2011 check out the brief page at the top of the blog which outlines the terms and conditions of the competition, what you will be required to design and how to present it, who will be judging your entry and of course the amazing prize one lucky winner will receive.

To accurately create your penthouse design we've created a short 3D CAD video simulation of the penthouse which is also on YOUTUBE . As well as the video, there are photographs of the interior of the apartment, 3D exterior visuals and scaled floor plans of the rooms you need to design. If you want to print the floor plans you will need to visit our website www.nda.ac.uk/competitions. 

It's important the plans are printed in A3 otherwise the scaling of your designs will not be correct.

Win £3000 cash, design the interior of a £1million Penthouse and make your design a reality!

The National Design Academy is delighted to launch a competition to design the interior of a £1million Penthouse apartment within the multi-award winning RiverCrescent development in Nottingham. www.trentpark.co.uk

The competition is aimed at interior design students of all levels and keen amateurs and will help kick-start the winner’s interior design career. The winner will not only receive £3000 but will work with NDA Private Clients, the professional interior design practice of the National Design Academy www.ndaprivateclients.co.uk to develop and implement their design. They will also receive extensive publicity and a professional portfolio of photographs of the completed Penthouse. The National Design Academy will also fund a year’s student membership of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) for the winner and 5 shortlisted designers.

For over 23 years the National Design Academy has been a Centre of Excellence for Interior Design. It is the largest provider of nationally accredited Interior Design courses in the UK, both in studio and by distance learning. Qualifications include Diplomas, Foundation Degrees and BA (Hons) in a range of design-related disciplines. www.nda.ac.uk
